Tilkut Gud Mawa Bati Recipe is an authentic sweet recipe specially prepared during the festival of Makar Sankranti or winter season. Usually we prepare numerous food items using Makar Sankranti like til ladoo, til tikki recipe and tilkut.

Til mawa barfi is a perfect winter recipe which is tasty, healthy and will help to keep your body warm from inside. This recipe is Sugar-free and rich minerals like calcium, iron, etc.

 Til gur barfi with jaggery is a healthy dessert recipe and easy method to prepare home made sweets. This tilkut barfi is usually prepared during winters especially on Lohri, Makar Sakranti, and fast like  sakat chauth.

INGREDIENTS

  • Sesame Seeds / White Til  – 100 gms
  • Jaggery /Gur – 100 gms
  • Khoya/mawa  – 50 grms
  • Ghee –  1 tsp
  • Green cardamom powder –  ½ tsp
  • Dry ginger pwdr  – 1 tsp
  • Chopped nuts for garnishing

PREPARATION

Make chikki  as per the recipe given in the video

Allow to cool .

Once it becomes crisp, break into pieces and grind it .

METHOD – 1

Heat 1 tsp ghee.

Add the mava and roast till soft.

Add the cardamom pwdr + ginger pwdr + chikki pwdr and mix well .

Stir and cook till it becomes a lump on low flame

Immediately transfer to a greased tray and flatten it . Garnish with dry fruits.

Allow to set for 3-4 hours till firm.

Cut in to desired shape and store in airtight container. 

Relish eating for up to 8 to 10 days. 

METHOD 2

Dry roast sesame seeds  on low flame till the seeds puff up and turns little brown. Remove and keep aside .

In the same pan , dry roast mava till soft, very little brown and the taste is not raw. Remove and keep aside .

In the same heat ghee and add jaggery + 1 tbsp water .Stir and cook till the jaggery melts .

Cook till the syrup starts to bubble.

NOTE – Drop few drops of syrup in water, if it does not spread, that means jaggery syrup is ready. 

Add the mawa and mix it well.

Add roasted sesame seeds and combine everything well till it becomes a lump on low flame

 Immediately transfer to a greased tray and flatten it . Garnish with dry fruits.

Allow to set for 3 – 4 hours till firm.

Cut in to desired shape and store in airtight container. 

Relish eating for up to 8 to 10 days.
