TRICOLOUR BREAD ALOO PAKORA

Tricolour Sandwich Bread Pakora is an interesting snack recipe that you can prepare for your loved ones on festivals and get-togethers! All you need is a handful of ingredients to make this yummy snack. This delicious Tri-Colour Bread Pakora is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside which makes it an appetizing snack. Pair up the bread pakoras with tomato ketchup, mint chutney and a hot beverage of your choice. 

FOR THE POTATO FILLING

·  2 cup boiled and mashed potatoes 

·  Salt to taste

·  ¼  cup finely chopped capsicum

·  ¼  cup finely chopped onions

·  2 tbsp finely chopped coriander leaves

·  ½ or ¾  tsp or as per taste red chili powder

·  ¼  tsp roasted jeera powder

·  ½  tsp garam masala

·  ½ tsp chaat masala

·  ½  tsp dried mango powder

METHOD – Boil the potatoes. When cool down peel and mash the potatoes

In a mixing bowl add mashed potatoes + all other ingredients and mix well. Keep this mixture aside .

FOR GREEN CHUTNEY RECIPE – Green chutney for chaat items

FOR BATTER:

1 cup gram flour

 ¼ tsp Chaat masala pwdr

Pinch of turmeric powder

¼ tsp red chilli powder

¼ tsp baking soda

water as required

salt to taste

METHOD  – Take all ingredients in a bowl .Gradually add water and make a medium consistency batter .

ASSEMBLING PAKORA AND FRYING

INGREDIENTS

  • brown or white bread slices
  • 1/2 cup tomato ketchup
  • oil for deep frying

METHOD

Heat oil in a deep fry pan.

Take 4 slices of bread and spread it.

Take one slice, spread tomato ketchup evenly on it, cover it with another slice.

On top of this covered slice, spread the potato stuffing evenly, cover it with the 3rd slice.

On top of this 3rd covered slice, spread green chutney evenly and finally cover it with the fourth slice.

It will look like a club sandwich of 4 slices.

Take that entire sandwich in hand and gently dip it in the besan batter, coating all sides of sandwich with the batter.

Take care to not to keep the sandwich in the batter for a long time as it tends to break.

Slide the batter coated sandwich in hot oil in the frying pan.

Fry the bread pakora on medium flame till they are crisp and golden brown.

Drain on kitchen towel or tissue, so that excess oil is absorbed.

Serve hot
