WHITE SAUCE CHICKEN SANDWICH TOAST 

NGREDIENTS

  • Boiled corn / chopped bell pepper – 1 cup
  • Boneless chicken boiled and shredded  – 2 cup
  • Garlic – 2 finely chopped
  • Butter + olive oil – 1 tbsp
  • Maida – 2 tbsp
  • Milk – 1 cup
  • Mixed herb or oregano – 1 tsp
  • Pepper pwdr – ¼ tsp
  • Salt  as required
  • Chilli flakes – 1 tsp optional
  • Grated cheese – 2 to 3 tbsp
  • Bread slices
  • Butter as needed

METHOD

Heat butter + oil in a pan add the garlic and saute.

Low the flame and add the flour and saute till lightly coloured.

Add the milk and stir continuously to avoid lumps to form.

Once it thickens lightly add the spinach + corn + salt + pepper + oregano + chilli flakes and mix well .

Finally add the grated cheese , mix well and off the flame.

The sauce should be creamy and thick.

It thickens more as it cools.

Apply the mixture on one side of the bread and cover with another slice.

Butter the bread on the outside and toast it on both the sides till crispy and golden colour on a hot tawa or any toaster. [3-4 minutes on each side on medium flame]

Cut and serve it hot with any chutney or sauce or dips.

NOTES

  1. Instead of maida you can use wheat flour or corn flour.
  2. You can try the same stuffing in chappatis and dosas.
  3. While toasting press it lightly.
  4. You can use brown bread or white bread.
  5. Be careful while adding salt as butter and cheese already contains .
  6. This is the same white sauce used for pasta and spaghetti.
