Rich in fiber and MCTs, it may offer a number of benefits, including improved heart health, weight loss, and digestion. Yet, it’s high in calories and saturated fat, so you should eat it in moderation. Overall, unsweetened coconut meat makes a great addition to a balanced diet.

INGREDIENTS

  • Raw rice – 1 cup
  • Methi dana – ½ tsp
  • Poha – ½ cup
  • Freshly grated coconut – 1 cup [ avoid the brown part ]

METHOD

Wash and soak the rice + methi dana + poha for 4 to 5  hrs .

Transfer the soaked rice to mixie jar , add the coconut and grind into fine batter.

Add 1 cup water while grinding .

The batter should be of dosa batter consistency .

Add salt and beat the batter well.

Cover and keep aside for fermentation for 8 hrs.

If the batter is very thick , then adjust the consistency to dosa batter .

Heat a pan and pour a ladle full of batter,

Spread it gently to make thick dosas.

Bubbles will start appearing all over.

Once all bubbles appear  , cover and cook .

It hardly takes 30 to 40 seconds for one dosa.

Once done remove and serve with any southindian accompaniment .
