FRESH DATES HALWA / RAW DATES HALWA RECIPE

This halwa tastes yum .This recipe can be tried with yellow and red fresh dates.

Raw / fresh dates halwa recipe

Fresh dates and the dried ones contain almost the same amount of nutrients, which is very high by the way! They contain “Iron” which can keep your blood healthy, potassium for your heart, magnesium which reduces the risk of diabetes and vitamin A for your bright eyes.

Although they are great to consume, they contain high levels of fruit sugar (fructose) which can cause some problems in long-term use.

Raw dates consumption has positive influence on production of red blood cells and also so useful for weak persons. It is anti-cancer and beneficial to relieve backache and strengthens hearing and vision ability.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup deseeded yellow or red fresh dates
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 3 tbsp milk powder
  • 2 tbsp fresh cream
  • 1 or 2 tsp sugar depending on the sweetness of dates
  • 1 tbsp ghee
  • pinch of saffron soaked in 1 tbsp milk
  • ¼ tsp cardamom pwdr
  • 1 or 2 tbsp dry fruits finely chopped

METHOD

Grind the deseeded dates into a fine mixture .

Now grind again by adding milk into smooth paste

Heat ghee in a pan .

Add the dates mixture .

Stir and cook for 4 to 5 mins on low flame .

Add milk powder + sugar , mix well .

Stir and cook till sugar melts for 1 min

Add fresh cream + cardamom pwdr + saffron and mix well.

Cover and cook for 2 mins , stir in between .

Finally  garnish with dry fruits

*we need to add less sugar as dates are sweet .
