GHIYA OATS CHEELA WEIGHTLOSS RECIPE / BOTTLE GOURD DIET RECIPES

Cheela / chilla is a dish that can be prepared in no time and served as a delightful breakfast or snack meal. This popular breakfast meal can be eaten any time of the day when hunger strikes.

Conventionally, cheela is made with besan (gram flour), which is full of proteins and energises the body. To stir up the nutritional quotient of besan cheela, you can add in oats as they are loaded with essential nutrients.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 Cup Oats I used quick Quaker oats. 1 Cup – 250ml
  • ½ cup besan
  • 2 tbsp curd
  • 1 cup peeled and grated ghiya / lauki / bottle gourd
  • 2 tbsp semolina / sooji
  • Ginger garlic green chilli  paste – 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • ½ tsp ajwain
  • ¼ tsp red chilli pwdr
  • ¼ tsp turmeric pwdr
  • ½ tsp chaat masala
  • Pinch of asafoetida
  • 3 tbsp finely chopped coriander leaves
  • Ghee / oil to drizzle

PREPARATION

  1. Take oats in a mixer jar and grind it into fine powder.
  2. Take the oats powder in a mixing bowl ,add besan + all other ingredients one by one  .
  3. Mix everything well.
  4. Gradually add water and make a thin batter like dosa batter consistency .
  5. Keep aside for sometimes .
  6. The batter thickens as oats absorb water.
  7. Adjust the consistency of the batter .
  8. Whisk to a smooth flowing consistency in the batter without any lumps. 

METHOD

Heat a tawa, when the tawa is hot, pour a ladle of  cheela batter and spread it to medium thickness circle with back of the ladle.

Cook for sometime on medium flame

Pour little  oil/ghee around the cheela and cook cheela on medium flame.

Continue to cook till the base gets light golden.

Then flip and cook on the other side

Once done remove and serve .

Serve the delicious oats besan chilla with tomato ketchup or coriander chutney or any other side dishes .
