DABBA STYLE MATAR PANEER RECIPE
RESTAURANT STYLE MATAR PANEER RECIPE
INGREDIENTS
- Paneer cubes – 300 grms
- Boiled green peas – ½ cup
- Onion – 1 big
- Tomato – 2 big [ not sour ]
- Oil + butter – 2 tbsp
- Ginger garlic paste – 1 tsp
- Red chilli pwdr – 1 ½ tsp or as per taste
- Kitchen king masala / garam masala powder – 1 tsp
- Coriander powder – 2 tsp
- Jeera pwdr – ½ tsp
- Turmeric – ¼ tsp
- Salt to taste
- Sugar – 1 tsp
- Tomato ketchup – 1 tbsp
NOTE – You can add orange tandoori colour for restaurant kind colour ..
PREPARATION
- Chop the tomatoes into small cubes .
- Take tomatoes + onion + 1 ½ cup water in a pan and bring to a boil . Now cook the tomatoes on medium flame for 10 mins or pressure cook upto 1 whistle
- Off the flame and let it cool .
- Once cooled blend into fine puree using mixer or blender . Use the water in which the tomatoes were cooked .
- Take chilli pwdr + kitchen king masala / garam masala + turmeric + coriander pwdr in a bowl . Add 1/4 cup water and mix well .
- Fry the paneer cubes and soak in water till use . [ optional ]
METHOD
Heat oil in a pan .
Add ginger garlic paste and stir fry till raw smell leaves .
Add masala paste and stir fry till oil releases
Add the puree and mix well .
Let it come to a boil .
Add ketchup + sugar + salt and mix well . [ IMP TIP – taste and chk the gravy and adjust sugar /ketchup accordingly for the restauarant kind taste ]
Adjust water as needed .The gravy should not be very thick or thin .
Bring it to a boil on medium flame .
Add fried paneer cubes + cooked green peas and give a gentle mix.
Simmer for a min , mix and off the flame .
Serve with any Indian bread items or rice items .
NOTE – if adding malai paneer , don’t fry as they are very delicate in texture .
