ATTE GUR KA HALWA / GUR KA SHEERA / GULACHA SHEERA / टेस्टी और स्वादिष्ट गुड़ का शीरा / GHAU GOAD NO SHEERO

Gur ka sheera is a Indian sweet dish prepared using wheat flour, jaggery and ghee. It’s usually made for breakfast.Here I have also added besan and sooji to give a nice texture to the halwa .

INGREDIENTS

  • Ghee – 1 cup
  • Jaggery – 1 cup
  • Water – 1 cup
  • Milk – 1 cup
  • Sooji – 2 tbsp
  • Wheat flour / atta – ½ cup [ 1 tbsp less ]
  • Besan – ½ cup [ 1 tbsp ]
  • Cardamom pwdr – 1 tsp
  • Dry fruits – 2 tbsp [ almond / pista ]

METHOD [ cook on low process ]

In a pan, mix in the jaggery and the water and boil until the jaggery dissolves completely.

In a heavy bottomed pan /non stick pan , heat the ghee on a medium flame .

Add in the flour and roast on low heat, until the wheat flour turns golden brown in colour and becomes aromatic.

Keep stirring continuously while roasting the flour .

It takes roughly about 8 or 10 minutes on low flame .

Gradually add milk and keep stirring .

Pour in the jaggery water .

Mix well until the mixture turns smooth .

Stir in the cardamom powder + dry fruits , mix well.

Cover and cook for 2 mins and off the flame  .

Serve warm or at room temperature.
