Regularly eating walnuts may improve brain health 

Eating at least four walnuts a day will help in curing many diseases, including cancer, obesity, diabetes as well as in maintaining body weight, cognitive, reproductive health and many other lifestyle problems, according to studies. “Walnuts are the powerhouse of nutrients for optimum health

Akhrot (walnuts) control cholesterol levels and improve the functioning of your heart. They help in decreasing LDL (bad cholesterol) and improving the function of blood vessels. They also cut the risk of plaque build up in arteries.

Soaking the walnuts overnight and then consuming them in the morning is one of the best ways to consume walnuts. To do this, take 2-4 pieces of walnuts and soak them in a cup of water overnight. Have them the first thing next morning. Having soaked walnuts helps in reducing the bad cholesterol in the body.

Walnuts are a good source of the plant form of omega-3 fat, which may help reduce heart disease risk.

Eating walnuts not only nourishes you but also the beneficial bacteria that live in your gut. This promotes the health of your gut and may help reduce disease risk.

INGREDIENTS

  • Walnut /akhrot chopped – 1 cup
  • Ghee – ¼ cup
  • Milk – ¾ cup
  • Milk powder – 3 or 4 tbsp
  • Sugar – ½ cup
  • Generous pinch of cardamom pwdr
  • Tin / tray greased with tray

METHOD

Heat  a pan and dry roast chopped walnut on low flame.

Roast until the nuts turn crunchy and change colour slightly. [Don’t over roast it ]

Cool it and grind the walnut into coarse powder , don’t over grind it else it will become sticky and oily .

Heat  ghee in a non stick pan and add walnut powder.

Stir and cook until the ghee is completely absorbed.

Add milk + milk powder + sugar + cardamom pwdr and mix well till everything is well combined.

Stir and cook for 12 to 15 mins on low flame till silky smooth texture.

The mixture will thicken and start leaving the edge of the pan .

Cook until the mixture becomes a lump , leaves the pan and holds shape .

transfer the mixture to the greased tin .

Press it with a spatula and level it up .

Garnish all over with chopped walnuts or any other dry fruits and press it.

Keep it aside to set for min 30 mins .

Once done slice it into desired shape /size.

Store in an airtight container. Keeps well for 1 week .
