Homemade strawberry Sauce
HOMEMADE STRAWBERRY COMPOTE / SAUCE WITHOUT PRESERVATIVES
STRAWBERRY SAUCE without preservatives. Can be used in making shakes, mousse, icecreams. Enjoy drizzle it on pancakes, icecream n with fresh cream.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup strawberries
- 1/2 or 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 tbsp water

Wash n chop the strawberries.
Put it in a pan along with sugar n water.
Mash them a little with back side of kitchen tbsp or masher (not too much, partially)
Mix well and cook it till it becomes little thick n mushy.
It should not become sticky.
Switch off d gas. Taste it.
Add lemon juice if require.
Cool n store it in air tight clean glass container.
Keep in fridge all the time. It stays for months in fridge.
Enjoy.
Note:
- Quantity of Sugar n usage of lemon juice totally depends on the sweetness of strawberries. One must taste the strawberries and do the needful.
- Do not over cook it otherwise it will become strawberry jam.
- Same way you can make black grapes sauce, plum sauce, orange sauce, pineapple sauce, kiwi sauce, n many more.
- You can make any kind of fruit sauce/ campote / jam using the same method and measurements of ingredients I have tried Black Grape sauce Orange marmalade Kiwi compote (the best) Plum compote Peach sauce.One of my cousin made tomato jam using the same recipe. Though I never tasted but reviews were awesome She blanched the tomatoes to remove its skin. Grinded them and cooked with sugar. And added lemon juice in the end.
- The texture of sauce is changed depending on which strawberry are used in the recipe (chopped / grated/ cut roughly/ used whole/ or grind in mixer)
- Also the more you cook, the more it thickens like jam ,so don’t overcook..
