INSTANT MISAL PAV RECIPE

INGREDIENTS

  • Oil – 4 tbsp oil
  • Onion – 1 medium size
  • Garlic – 5
  • Ginger – a small piece
  • Mixed sprouts or kala chana or any sprouts – 1 cup
  • Peanuts  pwdr –  1 1/2 tbsp
  • Besan –   1 1/2 or 2 tsp
  • Sugar – ¼ or 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander pwdr – 1 ½ tsp
  • Kashmiri red chilli pwdr – 1 tbsp as per taste
  • Turmeric pwdr – ½ tsp
  • Goda masala ( bedekar brand ) or garam masala – 1 or 1 1/2 tsp
  • Water – 2 1/2 or 3 cup

NOTE – IF making for tari poha , then add 3 cup water .

METHOD

Grind together onion + ginger + garlic into fine paste .

Heat oil in a cooker .

Lower the flame and add sugar + chilli pwdr + coriander pwdr + turmeric and give a quick stir .

Immediately add onion ginger garlic paste .

Stir fry on medium flame till oil separates, colour should not change .

Add besan + peanuts , stir fry for few seconds on medium flame .

Add sprouts and give a nice mix . Stir fry for a min on medium flame .

Add 2 1/2 or 3 cup water and give a mix .

Adjust salt .

Pressure cook upto 2 or 3 whistles. [ depending on cooking time of sprouts – how soft you want the sprouts ]

Allow the pressure to release on own .

Once done transfer to serving bowl and garnish with coriander leaves .

FOR SERVING:

  • Chopped coriander leaves
  • Chopped onion
  • Lemon Wedges
  • Pav
  • Farshan / Sev

HOW TO ASSEMBLE – Assemble only while serving .

Take a small plate . First add some sprouts , then  pour the spicy gravy .

Garnish with chopped onion , farshan and coriander leaves . Drizzle lemon juice .

Serve hot with pav.

NOTES

  1. Adjust red chili powder according to your taste , using kashmiri red chilli powder gives nice red colour to the kat .
