Masala papad recipe

                                                                  MASALA PAPAD RECIPE / CHEEZY MASALA PAPAD

INGREDIENTS

  • Mini urad dal papad – 6 [lizzat]
  • very finely chopped onions – 1
  • very finely chopped tomato – 1
  • very finely chopped coriander leaves for garnishing
  • chilli pwdr
  • chat masala
  • grated cheese [optional]

PREPARATION

You can fry the papad by either using microwave ,oil , direct on flame or roast on a tava by pressing it with a kitchen towel just like what we do with chappathis.Microwave  brush oil on both sides and microwave it for 30 seconds on each side.If roasting on flame be careful don’t burn it .

Cut tomatoes into half and remove the pulpy part.

METHOD.

Sprinkle  a pinch of chaat masala + a pinch of chilli pwdr.

Spread the finely chopped onion + tomato.

Then a layer of grated cheese.

Finally sprinkle coriander leaves.

Serve immediately.

NOTES

  1. I have used mini lizzat papad.
  2. Veges really have to be very very finely chopped .
  3. You can also add very finely chopped cucumber,raw mango, carrot grated, green capsicum.
  4. You can add masalas of your taste like cumin pwdr, amchur pwdr, oregano or mixed herbs.
  5. I also tried drizzling few drops of ketchup.
  6. Assemble everything only while having it or it will become soggy.
  7. Instead of sprinkling each ingredient ,you can make a mixture of all the ingredients and top it on the roasted papad.
  8. You can add lemon juice instead of amchur.
  9. First goes the onion then the tomatoes.
  10. Why not some butter while roasting the papad
  11. I did not add salt .
  12. Why not have it like a sandwich ,just place a plain roasted papad on top of the masala papad.
