RAW MANGO RASAM RECIPE

MANGO RASAM RECIPE

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 medium size raw mango
  • 2 tbsp dal cooked dal water [ optional ]
  • 500 ml water
  • ½ tsp turmeric
  • 1 tbsp jaggery
  • 1 tbsp rasam pwdr
  • Salt to taste
  • ½ tsp pepper pwdr
  • Few curry leaves
  • 2 tsp Oil
  • 1 tsp jeera + mustard seeds
  • Pinch of fenugreek seeds
  • 2 red chilli
  • 1 tbsp crushed garlic
  • Pinch of asafoetida

METHOD

Peel and chop the mango .Pressure cook it with ½ cup water + little salt upto 3 whistles  .

Blend the mango in smooth puree .

Take the puree + 3 cup water water + turmeric + asafoetida   + rasam pwdr + curry leaves + pepper pwdr + salt  + jaggery .

Keep on low flame and bring to a boil.

Boil the rasam on medium flame for 10 mins.

Add coriander leaves and off the flame.

Heat oil in a small pan .

Add mustard seeds + jeera + fenugreek seeds and let them crackle.

Add red chilli + curry leaves and give a mix .

Add garlic and stir fry for few seconds .

Pour this over the rasam

Serve hot with soft rice or have like soup .
