SEV CHIKKI RECIPE

SINDHI SEV CHIKKI

INGREDIENTS

  • Fikka sev / unsalted sev – 1 cup
  • Sugar – ½ cup
  • Ghee – 1 tsp
  • Elaichi pwdr – ¼ tsp or 1 or 2 drops of  rose essence

METHOD

Heat a pan with sugar .

Stir and cook till sugar starts melting .

Once the sugar starts melting add 1 tsp ghee and mix well.

Again stir and cook till the sugar melts completely and a thick syrup is formed.

 Add elaichi pwdr and mix well.

Off the flame immediately

Add the sev and mix well .

Grease a smooth area with ghee and transfer the sev over it.

Flatten it when you are able to touch the mixture .

Use a rolling pin and roll into thick sheet as shown in video .

Give cuts when it is hot itself.

Now allow to cool till its crisp . When it cools a bit, insert the knife along the lines and separate the pieces. When the pieces become completely cold, they are ready to eat. 

Sev chikki are ready to serve.

Store in air tight container .
