SUKHI MASOOR DAL KI SABJI  RECIPE

 INGREDIENTS

  • Masoor dal – ½ cup  [ use whole skinless masoor dal ]
  • Oil – 1 tbsp
  • Jeera – ½ tsp
  • Onion finely chopped – 1
  • Grated garlic or ginger – 1 tsp  [ optional ]
  • Tomato – finely chopped
  • Curry leaves – few
  • Finely chopped green chilli – 1
  • Red chilli pwdr – ¾ tsp or 1 tsp or as per taste
  • Turmeric – ¼ tsp
  • Coriander pwdr – 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Finely chopped coriander leaves to garnish

METHOD

Wash and soak the dal for 10 or 15 mins .

Heat oil in a pan .

Splutter jeera.

Add onion + curry leaves + green chilli and stir fry till translucent.

Add ginger / garlic and stir fry till raw smell leaves .

Add tomato + salt and mix well.

Cook till oil separates.

Add chilli pwdr + turmeric + coriander pwdr and stir fry for few seconds.

Drain the  water from the soaked dal and add .

Mix well and stir fry for a min.

Add ¾  cup water and mix well.

Adjust salt as needed.

Cook on medium flame till the dal is cooked and there is no water,

Once done , off the flame and garnish with coriander leaves .

Serve as side dish .
