VAG PANEER SHASHLIK RECIPE /PANEER SHISH KEBAB

PANEER SHASHLIK / VEG SHISH KEBAB

INGREDIENTS

  • Paneer cubes – 500 grms
  • Lemon juice – 1 tbsp
  • Salt – to taste
  • Soy sauce – 1 tbsp
  • Tomato ketchup – 2 tbsp
  • Honey – 1 tsp [ optional ]
  • Ginger-garlic paste – 1 tbsp
  • Coriander powder – 1 tsp
  • Chili powder – 1 ½  tsp or as per taste
  • Pepper powder – ½ tsp
  • Oil – 1 tbsp + 1 tbsp to fry
  • Cubed onion + capsicum + deseeded tomato
  • Wooden skewer [ soak in water for 10 mins ]

METHOD

Take all other ingredients one by one  and mix well .

Apply this marinade all over the paneer cubes + onion + capsicum + tomato .

 Marinate for minimum 30 mins or more  in fridge.

Once done thread the paneer onto the skewers, alternating it with chunks of onion, tomato and capsicum..

Don’t give space between the chicken pieces, let it stick to each other .

Heat a pan with 1 tbsp oil .

Arrange the sticks .

Cook on medium flame .

Keep turning the skewers and cook till done .

Paneer doesn’t take much time to cook ..Keep turning for even frying .

 Once done remove and serve with any side accompaniments .

Serve immediately with mint chutney. You can also serve it on a bed of rice or noodles and it would become a complete meal.

NOTE

  1. Don’t use malai paneer as they are very soft and delicate to handle .
  2. Adjust masalas as per taste .
  3. If you are using frozen paneer, soak them in warm water for 20-25 minutes to make it soft and spongy. 
  4. Instead of paneer we can use mushroom / soya or chicken .
