INSTANT AMCHUR JAGGERY CHUTNEY FOR CHAAT

Khatti meethi teekhi chutney for chatpata Indian snacks like kachoris / samosas / bhajiyas /chaat items etc

INGREDIENTS

  • Amchur pwdr – 1 tbsp RECIPE – Homemade amchoor powder
  • Chaat masala pwdr – ½ tsp
  • Jaggery pwdr – ¼ cup
  • Water –  5 or 6 tbsp
  • Black salt or regular – ¼  tsp
  • Red chilli pwdr / Kashmiri red chilli pwdr – ¼ tsp
  • Roasted jeera pwdr – 1/4  tsp

METHOD

Take all ingredients [ except jeera pwdr ] in a pan and mix well .

See that there are no lumps

Keep on medium flame .

Stir and cook till the  jaggery  melts completely and the mixture thickens a bit as per the consistency you want  . [ 3 to 4 mins hardly ]

Don’t overcook else it will become very thick .We need flowing honey like consistency .

Off the flame and add jeera pwdr .

Chutney is ready to serve  with any snacks .

We can also add finely chopped kismis / cashews / melon seeds  /crushed whole coriander seeds /whole fennel seeds once you off the flame

NOTE

  1. We can also add pudina pwdr to it .
  2. Kashmiri chilli pwdr adds colour to the chutney ,if you don’t have then add red food colour.
  3. We can also add ¼ tsp garam masala pwdr/ saunf pwdr / ginger powder
  4. Instead red chilli pwdr we can use pepper pwdr .
