SOYA CHUNKS COOKED WITH FRESH RAJMA BEANS/ FRESH RAJMA BEANS SOYA CHUNKS SABJI

INGREDIENTS

  • Fresh rajma beans – 1 cup
  • Mini soya chunks  – 1 cup
  • Onion finely chopped – 1 big
  • Ginger garlic paste – 1 tsp
  • Tomato finely chopped – 1 big
  • Oil – 1 tbsp
  • Jeera – 1 tsp
  • Curry leaves – few
  • Green chilli – 1
  • Red chilli pwdr – 1 ½ tsp or as per taste
  • Coriander pwdr – 2 tsp
  • Turmeric pwdr – ¼ tsp
  • Garam masala pwdr – ½ tsp
  • Sugar – ¼ tsp [ optional ]
  • Salt to taste
  • Coriander leaves to garnish

METHOD

Soak the soya chumks in hot water for 5 mins. Wash and rinse well .Strain and keep aside till use

 Heat oil in a cooker and crackle the jeera.

Add onion + curry leaves + green chilli and stir fry till translucent .

Add ginger garlic paste and stir fry till raw smell leaves.

Add tomato + salt and stir fry till oil separates.

Add chilli pwdr + garam masala pwder + coriander pwdr + turmeric + sugar and mix well.

Stir fry for few seconds.

Add soya chunks and mix well.

Stir fry for 2 mins.

Add rajma and mix well.

Add 1 or 1 ½ cup water and mix well.

Adjust salt as needed.

Pressure cook upto 2 to 3 whistles till done.

Don’t over cook till mushy.The beans  should be in shape .

Once done off the flame and allow the pressure to release on its own .

Open the cooker and give a gentle mix .

Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot .
