SUGAR FREE SAPOTA HALWA
INSTANT HEALTHY CHIKOO HALWA / SAPOTA HALWA/ SUGAR FREE CHICKOO HALWA

A good source of dietary fibre, the pulp of this fruit functions as an excellent laxative. It is loaded with a rich array of vitamins A, C, niacin, folate and pantothenic acid and minerals iron, potassium and copper. The host of plant compound tannins in sapota possesses strong antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antiviral, antibacterial and antiparasitic effects. The plethora of essential nutrients in sapota promotes overall health and well-being.
Regular intake of chikoo can greatly improve bone quality. Lack of copper in the diet can increase the risk of osteoporosis, the presence of copper in sapota is pivotal for the health of bones, promotes muscle and tissue strength.
Chikoo also known as sapota, may help you get rid of belly fat and extra weight. It keeps your digestive system in check, and prevents irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Also, the dietary fibres present in it can make you feel full for longer time. Moreover, chiku helps in boosting the body’s metabolism.
Chickoo has a grainy texture and a mildly musky flavour. The soft fleshy fruit is scooped out to make smoothies, jams and delectable desserts.Here we are making halwa.
INGREDIENTS
- Firm Chikoos of good quality – 500 grms
- 2 tbsp ghee
- 1/4 cup milk podwer
- 1/4 tsp cardamom pwdr
NOTE – I have not added sugar , as the fruit was sweet . Also milkpowder has its sweetness .If your fruit is not sweet then add sugar as needed.
PREPARATION
Wash the chikoo and peel them. Discard the seeds and cut into small pieces. Put all the pieces into the mixer and make a paste of it OR you can also mash it using a potato masher .
METHOD
Heat ghee in a non stick pan .
Add pulp and stir fry for 2 to 3 mins
Lower the flame , add milk podwer + cardamom pwdr and mix well.
Stir and cook for a min .
Garnish with dry fruits if needed.
Serve immediately when it is hot.
It changes its colour and texture after sometime .
