BOONDI SALAD / BOONDI CHAAT

BOONDI CHAAT / BOONDI SALAD RECIPE

Boondi, a water droplet sized deep fried crispy Indian snack prepared from gram flour and few spices, is a main ingredient in making boondi chaat / salad .

INGREDIENTS

  • Masala boondi or plain boondi – 2 cup  – RECIPE – Namkeen boondi
  • Boiled corn kernels – ½  cup
  • Roasted peanut – ¼ cup [ optional ]
  • Finely chopped onion – 1 small
  • Finely chopped tomato – 1 small [ remove the pulpy part ]
  • Finely chopped coriander leaves – 2 tbsp
  • Red chilli pwdr – ½ tsp or as per taste
  • Chaat masala – 1 or 1 ½ tsp
  • Roasted jeera pwdr – ½ tsp
  • Pepper pwdr – ¼ tsp
  • Grated carrot – ¼  cup
  • Grated beetroot – ¼ cup
  • Finely chopped cucumber
  • Pomegranate – ¼ cup [optional ]
  • Lemon juice – 1 tsp or as per taste
  • Fine nylon sev for garnish
  • Khatti meethi tamarind chutney – 1 tbsp or as required [optional ]
  • Salt to taste

NOTE – adjust ingredients as per taste

METHOD

Take all the ingredients one by one in a mixing bowl except the boodi  .

Mix it well with clean hands or spoon .

Taste and adjust each ingredients.

Add the boondi and mix well .Serve immediately.

Boondi chaat / salad is ready to serve .

Add the boondi and mix only while serving , else it will become soggy .

NOTES

  1. Add ingredients as per your taste . Also adjust quantity of each ingredients as per your likes.
  2. V can also add boiled potato / finely diced capsicum etc etc  .
  3. Instead of red chilli pwdr , v can use pepper pwdr or chilli flakes or green chilli  .
