Healthy dalia moong dal khichdi recipe

HEALTHY DALIA MOONG DAL  KHICHDI

INGREDIENTS

  • Ghee – 2 tbsp
  • Jeera – 1 tsp
  • Turmeric – ¼ tsp
  • Dalia / broken wheat of small size – ½ cup
  • Yellow moong dal – ½ cup
  • Ginger grated – 2 tsp
  • Onion finely chopped – 1
  • Tomato finely chopped – 1 big
  • Green chilli – 2 or 3 or as per taste
  • Mixed veges like carrot / peas / beans – 1 cup
  • Salt to taste
  • Water – 4 ½ to 5 cups

METHOD

Dry roast the dalia till hot to touch .

Wash the dalia + moong dal together and soak for 20 to 30 mins.

Heat ghee in a cooker , add jeera and let it crackle .

Add onion and stir fry till translucent .

Add ginger and stir fry for few seconds .

Add tomato + green chilli + + turmeric + salt and stir fry till soft.

Add the veges and stir fry for 3 to 4 mins.

Add the soaked dalia + moong and mix well.

Add 4 ½ to 5 cup water and mix well.

Adjust sugar as needed.

Pressure cook on medium flame upto 2 whistles.

Once done off the flame.

Open the cooker and give a mix and garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves .

Serve hot with any side dishes.

Top it with more ghee .
