WEIGHTLOSS RECIPE OF BAJRA FLAKES UPMA /BAJRA MILLETS POHA RECIPE

BAJRA UPMA FOR WEIGHTLOSS

INGREDIENTS

  • Ragi or jowar or bajra  flakes – 2 cup [ easily available online or shops ]
  • Finely chopped onion – 1 small
  • Mixed veges finely chopped or grated  – 1  cup [ boiled green peas ,carrot  ]
  • Finely chopped green chilli – 1 or 2 or as per taste
  • Oil + ghee –  1  tbsp
  • Mustard seeds + urad dal – 1 tsp
  • Jeera – ½ tsp
  • Curry leaves – few
  • Grated ginger – 1 tsp
  • Finely chopped coriander leaves and freshly grated coconut for garnish
  • Salt to taste
  • Sugar – ¼ tsp [ optional ]

METHOD

Take the bajra flakes in a strainer, wash it well and drain the excess water.

Cover and keep it in the same strainer till use .

Heat oil + ghee in a pan, add mustard seeds + urad dal + jeera  and let it crackle.

Add onions + chilli + ginger + curry leaves and fry till translucent.

Add veges + salt + ¼ tsp sugar  and stir fry till cooked for 1 or 2 mins .[ crunchy texture ,don’t over cook ]

Add the  flakes and mix well.

Stir fry for 1 minute till the flakes gets coated with the masalas .

NOTE – Sprinkle little water , if very dry  .

Once done off the flame .

Garnish with coconut and coriander leaves .

Drizzle few drops of lemon juice while serving.
