MORINGA THEPLA
MORINGA THEPLA/ DRUMSTICK LEAVES THEPLA / HEALTHY THEPLAS
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi claimed he eats drumstick parathas / theplas once or twice a week to stay fit and healthy, and advised his people to do the same as he celebrated the first anniversary of the Fit India Movement . even explained the health benefits of drumstick parathas. PM Modi stated that drumsticks are rich in antioxidants and Vitamin C, an effective vegetable that helps combat the common cold, influenza, and has anti-inflammatory anti-bacterial properties that help in controlling the symptoms of asthma, cough, and other respiratory problems.
Not many of us know India’s ancient tradition of Ayurveda medicine cures 300 diseases that can be cured with the drumstick tree.
A cup of moringa leaves juice gives as much Vitamin A as nine eggs or 500 grams of butter will. Not just that, it provides Vitamin C equals to six oranges and calcium equal to 900 grams of almonds.
Moringa, a nutrient-packed superfood that comes from the Moringa oleifera tree in India, has been used for centuries in Eastern cultures to alleviate headaches, ease constipation, stimulate the immune system, promote weight loss, and increase libido. Modern research suggests moringa can help lower cholesterol, balance blood sugar, and ease other health concerns.
The leaves of the Moringa tree are edible and are used in cooking from olden times but have become popular in the last few years as a superfood.
Studies reveal that it reduces liver damage and even helps prevent liver injury. It may also help in restoring liver enzymes, which allow the organ to perform its many duties: clear our blood of drugs, chemicals, and alcohol; convert glucose to starch for storage; and excrete wastes via bile etc
Moringa leaves have almost all the nutrients we need regularly for good health and well being. They have vitamins, calcium, iron, protein, magnesium, zinc, and are low in fat and this helps to cure numerous health problems by keeping our bodily organs healthy.

- Same recipe you can try for lauki thepla ,instead of moringa leaves use grated lauki .[squeeze the excess juice from it ]
- You can make without besan just using wheat flour for soft theplas. Adding more besan makes it sometimes hard and chewy when cooled.
- If making for travelling add extra oil while frying. While packing for travelling , add a layer of ghee between 2 theplas , so that they don’t dry and will remain fresh for 4 yo 5 dys. Over here ghee acts as an preservative.- tip given by MINAKSHI.
